Episode seven is an exciting landmark for the Fishing Intelligence Podcast, I am hosting my first Bass Pro! Dave Lefebre joins me on this episode to talk all about why he made the transition from the Elite Series to the MLF Bass Pro Tour as well as running me through his recent KBF win on Lake Erie out of his Bonafide Kayak.

Dave started off by telling me right off of the bat that his transition from BASS to MLF was not his most difficult one. This was something that he had been looking forward to for some time and was something that he wasn’t sure would even happen in his time as a pro. We talked about how he is looking forward to a fresh new style of fishing where the anglers are more in control and spectators have a much better opportunity to watch exactly how a day of professional tournament fishing really goes.
When I asked him where he wanted to see tournaments hosted, he gave me a very sarcastic response of 1, maybe 2, probably 3 events on Lake Erie. Lake Erie is literally in Dave’s backyard for those of you who don’t know, so to say he is comfortable on that big scary body of water is an understatement. After talking more about what the transition will look like, we talked about how he got introduced into the addicting world of kayak bass fishing.

Dave is part of a local TV show in Erie named Erie Extreme. While trying to find new things to do on his show, he met up with the Bonafide Kayak guys and became hooked. When the KBF (Kayak Bass Fishing) tournament series came around to Lake Erie, Dave made short work of the competition and took home the 10k prize. He even dropped some of his favorite Lake Erie fishing techniques that helped him get the big win. Make sure to check out his show Erie Extreme and get excited to follow along in his journey with MLF!
