Fishing Intelligence Podcast Ep. 1 | Meet The Founders of ANGLR

On the first ever episode of Fishing Intelligence, I am talking with the founders of ANGLR, Landon and Nic. The company had humble beginnings but is here to make a dramatic change in the fishing industry. In this episode, we talk about how ANGLR began after a competitive day on the water between two buddies and how it has gotten to where it is today.

It started out basically as a smartphone that would be attached to your fishing rod, but after the realization of how impractical that would be, they created their first product, the ANGLR Tracker. The Tracker pairs with ANGLR’s free fishing app to collect all of your fishing data for you, all you have to do is fish!

The founders of ANGLR, Landon and Nic, celebrating the launch of the ANGLR Bullseye at ICAST 2018 with fishing legend, Bill Dance.

In their creation of the ANGLR Tracker, they got to be the first to ever have a computer recognize the fact that there was a fish on the end of the line. After Tracker, they wanted to simplify things and moved to their second product, the ANGLR Bullseye. An incredibly simple bluetooth button that pulls all of your weather and water data into a GPS track that gives you all the information you would want to see at the end of a fishing day.

We also discuss the ANGLR Tour, the 14,000 mile road trip that I spearheaded to promote their bullseye. We all talk about our favorite parts of the tour and how insane of an idea it really was. We finish up talking the future of ANGLR and the wakes it is about to make in the ultra-competitive fishing industry. Make sure to check out ANGLR and the Bullseye if you haven’t already!

I have traveled the majority of the US targeting as many species as possible with some of my favorite species being the Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout, Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, and Redfish. I have been fortunate enough to work with ANGLR as the ANGLR Tour host where we traveled 10,500 miles over 2 months and caught 59 different species.
